Brad's 2004 Mini Cooper S

Current status: It's here!!!

A picture of Brad's Mini The demise of my jeep meant a new car. Although I miss my jeep--a lot, I'm feeling a little gun shy of anything tall. Perhaps it is an over reaction, but I am getting a Mini Cooper S. I have mostly owned little cars and two were English (Austin Healy Sprite/MG Midget) so I feel right at home getting a Mini.

For various reasons I ended up ordering one from the factory (Oxford, UK). It is built now and has made its way across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme, CA., to my dealer in Santa Ana and home!

Although this went better than I could have imagined (Thank you Karen),I don't think I could do this again without a car to drive while I am waiting. Hopefully I won't have too. It is nice to have wheels again.

The VDC

In order to get here my Mini shipped through Port Hueneme, CA. I was able to keep very good track of Viggo's progress here until Port Hueneme. At that point the stupid phone number you can call to check on your Mini's current location said, "Your mini is at the port, waiting for a ship." Arrggh! It just got off the ship! Anyway, it ended up taking about 14 days from the time it left the ship until it made its way through the VDC and to my dealer.

The Bujin

This giant ship brought my Mini (Viggo?) to the USA.
