The last two from Seattle

Well, it’s been exciting here lately. With Cory from boingboing.net giving us a plug. All and all, it was very nice. The only negative was the guy who said a monkey could have done what I did and that it wasn’t worthy of boingboing. The next day boingboing featured a movie someone made from a batch of cupcakes that turned out inedible; they danced. I can only assume that was boingboing worthy. -ouch!

Here are the last two movies from Seattle. It’s the same movie, one with the paint effect and one without. What do you prefer?

Seattle skyline

So I’ve been doing these out of order. Before our trip to Victoria, we were in Seattle for a conference. This was shot out the window of our hotel. It’s pretty heavily cropped because there were reflections in the window. Still, it’s not bad.

Are we tired of Victoria yet?

Hell no!

This is nicer than I originally thought. Lots of stuff going on. The way everything changes when the clouds get dark is cool too.

I added this one based on Christopher’s comment. I didn’t realize there were cars back there.

Round two from Victoria

This one is just a tighter crop of the one from yesterday. I’m not convinced this is any better, just different.

This one (an even tighter crop) is just clouds and a couple of trees; it could be anywhere. I made it run a little quicker too.

It’s amazing the way clouds seem to form right before your eyes–maybe they are. Probably they are.

It’s been awhile

Karen and I went to Victoria in February. Indeed it was cold. The hotel we stayed in was on the harbor and had just enough balcony for my camera. I thought it might be too cold for my camera, but it preformed flawlessly. This is the first of it and the prettiest I think. I am working on a closeup of the clouds in the center of this as a follow up. I expect more will be up soon.

Something new and a little strange

I was doing some image processing for another project when I noticed some interesting operations — charcoal and paint. I read a little more and was intrigued. The way I build these movies — frame-by-frame, using a standard image processing program for most operations, I can take advantage of any operation.

So, I decided to run some of my old movies back though the system, but using some of these new operator.

Leave me a comment, I’d love to hear what you think–

I never really liked this beach scene until now… it could use some music though.

A new look at the Trains at Izaak Walton Inn. (I wish I had more footage — I need to go back.)

And last the Queen Mary and the fireboat.
